My name is Sally Mathew, I was born in 1972 and I live in a village in the pretty Northamptonshire countryside in the UK, with my husband, our new baby son Oliver and two gorgeous kitties :o)

I’ve always enjoyed a wide variety of arts and crafts, especially drawing and counted cross-stitch, my nan always used to let me help with her tapestries when I was younger which began my love for sewing.

I've loved Teddy Bears for as long as I can remember and have an ever increasing collection, which consists of mainly miniatures.

I started designing and creating my own bears in the Summer of 2004, which started off as a hobby and became a full-time occupation the following year after 15 years working as a graphic designer, it was a big career change but one I'm really enjoying.

'Sally B Bears' come from a non-smoking home and are created using only the finest quality materials available, which include Schulte Mohairs, imported synthetics, faux furs and Alpacas. They are all one-of-a-kinds and are completely double hand stitched with great care and attention to detail, created from my own patterns. I don’t have a particular set style as I’m always keen to try new designs and ideas, but I like all my bears to have a cute ‘baby faced’ look about them. Being an animal lover, I have also designed a few animals and hope to create some more throughout the year. While I specialise in miniature bears, I have also made some larger ones and will continue to do so every now and again.

I must confess to being one of the slowest bear makers on the planet; each bear takes at least a week to complete from design to finished cub, which means availability will be limited to around 25-30 each year.

I’d like to take this opportunity to say a huge THANK YOU to all of my customers for your continued interest and support in my work, many of whom have been adopting my bears since the beginning and are still continuing to do so. I’ve met many lovely people and made some great friends along the way.

I am honoured to have had my bears featured in several magazines including Teddy Bear Times, Teddy Bear Club International, Teddy Bear Scene and Teddy Bear & Friends and am extremely proud to announce that my Panda 'Mia' has been chosen as 'WINNER' in the TBS 2006 Readers' Choice Awards (click on my 'News' link for more details).
